Why do people eat. Why do I eat. Why do YOU eat. ‘Eating’ is an essential process which everyone must go through and goes through to live. There are roughly three types of meal a day: breakfast, lunch, and supper. We students spend most of our productive hours in school, and the meal eaten during school time is lunch. Hence, lunch should be regonised as the most important meal for students, not breakfast. Due to this fact, the quality of the cafeteria food is vital. And unfortunately, our school food, run my the JJ Catering System can be considered poor in terms of quality.
To start with, JJ Catering System lacks creativity. I am utterly sick of the same food. The pasta may seem fair for new students, it was for me too, but after about a quarter or two, you don’t even want to smell it. Serve food that students like!! Stuff like cheese sticks or lasagna. Serve more diverse menu!! But who cares if the pasta stinks, you can always fetch Korean food.
I have to say, Korean food served at KIS is better than the Western menu for sure. Perhaps because the cook is Korean, hard to say. Major beef against Korean food... is that it lacks the beef. Barely a few days ago, they served one of my favourite dishes: bibimbab. Excited and enthusiastic, Andrew mixed and stirred the rice and vegetables with the gochoojang. He scooped and chewed... and realised... something is missing. WHERE IS THE BEEF. At least chicken or pork for heaven sakes!! That isn’t bibimbab, they are missing the point. Rice mixed with scraps of herbs. Seems more like rabbit food to me. The point that I’m making is, students can’t study, last through PE classes or exams eating rabbit food. But who cares if the Korean food stinks, we can always fetch the Deli!!
Deli, amongst the other two categories I’ve mentioned, is by far the best. The pizza though, still needs improvement. It smells like... Play-Doh.
I’m a big potato eater. So barely a few days ago, I ordered potato. It tasted good, but as I kept digging into my potato, I discovered this big black spot in my potato. Evil black spot on my potato. I immediately told the cafeteria lady and threw the potato away.
In addition, I’d like to remind the JJ Catering that I appreciate, with all my heart, their efforts in trying to make the food as healthy as possible. But food is meant to be tasty, and enjoyable to chew. I’m a big Capri-Sun drinker. I love it. And I drank it every lunch, but one day something happened. I asked “Cah-poo-ree-sun joo-sae-yo” and the kind lady didn’t give me Capri-Sun but said “We no longer serve Capri-Sun because it isn’t 100% fruit juice.” Wow. So is Nestea 100% fruit juice? Ridiculous. I WANT MY CAPRI-SUN. I WANT MY COLA. There intentions in trying to purify our diet is actually causing a great deal of mental stress. Before, lunch was my favourite class. Now, it stinks just as bad as the other ones.
I’d like to end my complaints towards our cafeteria by asking them to lower the price. Otherwise, increase the quality and quantity. It suppose to be whether cheap and bad or costly but worthy. Apparently it’s costly and bad.

Tasty food = happiness = academically successful.
Rabbit food = anger, hunger = academically unsuccessful.
